East London Humanists was founded in 2012. Our diversity reflects the vibrant diversity of East London. Some of us were brought up in families with no religious belief. Others are from deeply religious backgrounds. These include, for example, a number of ex-Catholics and ex-Muslims.
The group continues to grow steadily and has over 500 supporters on Meetup.
Our group is part of a growing movement of people who feel it is important to identify themselves as Humanists. The movement has distinguished supporters from across the political spectrum together with leading scientists, writers, broadcasters and a host of others.
