A free training day will be held on Saturday 25 March for anyone wishing to obtain accreditation as a school speaker for the British Humanist Association. The training will be held at Lift in Islington. The day, which is organised by the BHA, will run from 09.30 to 17.00.
This is a great chance to make a difference. East London Humanists are keen to develop a local network of accredited school speakers. In November 2015 the High Court ruled in a case brought by the BHA that school curricula must treat non-religious worldviews with equal respect to religions. By providing school speakers we can help with the aim of ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to learn about Humanism.
In order to apply you need to:
- Be a member, or be prepared to join, the BHA
- Read the application pack to see what is involved and to check if it is for you
- Read the BHA school speakers Code of Practice
- Complete both the contact form and the application form and submit these to email@example.com by Friday 24 February
